House on Ninth Street

A certain house on Ninth Street in Nashville was once home to a mysterious poltergeist who caused much disturbance in the home of John Hawkins during the 1960s. These events followed the "classic poltergeist" activities: banging noises, footsteps, and other events. Poltergeist is a German word meaning "noisy spirit" and this one certainly lived up to that name.

The origin of this spirit is unclear. Poltergeists are known to sometimes appear with adolescent girls. Perhaps this had something to do with the Hawkins haunting

If the poltergeist still inhabits the house, it hasn't made itself available. There haven't been any reports of activity at the house in several years, so perhaps the spirit has moved on. Or perhaps it still resides there, just waiting to make its presence known again!
