Me and my husband while dating went to a secluded spot in Sullivan county with several football player friends. We went there as a group. Funny how the only ones that made it out without actually seeing anything was us, the ones who waited outside. However, we did hear footsteps sounding like a animal moving in for the kill. Twigs shattered, leaves crumbled we both heard the screams of the two that went in at the same time. We all ran to the car, the two big football guys said they saw something come out of the shadows of the moonlight sky that was visible because of fire of the orphanage that burnt the roof. Hugh Hamblen?

I dont know if this really concerns with an encounter with the spirit of Hugh Hamblen. But it occurred around the area of his sightings.

During my high school days, I was on my way home to the Ridgefields community which is just across the river from Netherland Inn. I was just coming from a small HS party. Around 9pm on my way home, I was passing by the grounds of the old Kingsport Hospital and the Netherland Inn. And without warning, I blacked out at the wheel.

By a miracle, I regained consciousness. But what makes this weird is that I had blacked out for about 3-4 minutes, I was still on the road, and had driven well into the Ridgefields community, with was than a minute from home. This is turning to cross over the river bridge, continuing up hill the main neighborhood street, around a street circle, and then a few other turns. When I regained my senses, I felt uneasy and cold. Almost a small case of shock. At no time, did I consume any drugs or alcohol that night. I had always been a clean cut kid. I only had fast food and coke that night.

To this day, I cannot find an explaination for my blackout. All I know is that someone was watching over me.
