Allison House in Piney Flats

Reader Angel e-mails:
Me and my husband while dating went to a secluded spot in Sullivan county with several football player friends. We went there as a group. Funny how the only ones that made it out without actually seeing anything was us, the ones who waited outside. However, we did hear footsteps sounding like a animal moving in for the kill. Twigs shattered, leaves crumbled we both heard the screams of the two that went in at the same time. We all ran to the car, the two big football guys said they saw something come out of the shadows of the moonlight sky that was visible because of fire of the orphanage that burnt the roof. Anyone else had experiences with Allison house e mail direct angel9088 at yahoo.com. It is no longer there. Is the community to outraged to tell the truth on the history that they tore down?

Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat call in the spirits wherever they're at.

Rap on a table, its time to respond, send us a message from somewhere beyond.

Goblins and ghoulies from last Halloween awaken the spirits with your tambourine.

Creepies and crawlies, toads in a pond let there be music from regions beyond.

Wizards and witches wherever you dwell give us a hint by ringing a bell.

I regret to imform you that Allison House is no more. Someone bought the land where the house once stood and tore it down. We may never Know what actually went on in that house, but, I can say for certain that the feeling of something around this property is still there.

I just happend to run up on this as i was searching for pictures of the house i grew up with and one day wished to buy and restore.. I spent many afternoons in the first floor ball room, or the library as I called it because of all the old discarded news papers and magazines that covered the floor, even fell through once in the back bedroom across from the stairs near the back entrance. I have lived within a short walk of it on allison road for the past 20 years and know much of its history! as far as the the haunted part My father spoke with the owner of the brick pile and that is the very reason it no longer exists!! To much Traffic on Halloween, To much liability so she got the dozer!!! To anyone that knew the house and loved its history as I did they know what is lost forever! The end...

I remember when the house was still standing. I never heard anything about it having been an orphanage, though. There was an ENORMOUS oak tree behind the house. I wonder if it's still there? Does anyone know what the story was of the haunting?

As far as I know the house was never an orphanage and the roof was untouched by fire until the final 'Big One' that was the death blow for it in the early 90s and as far as the great oak it took a trip to germany and was turned into furniture. I live on part of the old allison estate just up the road from where the house once stood. We have one on our property thats about 3/4 the size of that oak, a local company wanted to purchase it but im happy to say it is still standing and will remain so as long as i live!! all of the allison wooded area is fast becoming a wooded sub-division

I moved here 10 years ago and this is what I heard about the old Allison House.... That back in the
1800's, old man Allison had slaves that he kept chained in the basement at night. One day he died while they were still chained & by the time they were found, they were
all dead. Then back in the 80's or 90's that Satan Worshippers took over the house & the county came in
and tried to burn it down & it wouldn't burn so they bulldozed it.
Any of this true?

To the one wanting to know where the house stood, it is now surrounded by a chain link fence.
