Millennium Manor

There is an interested post by guest blogger Les Jones over at No Silence Here about Millennium Manor, or Old Stone House, in Alcoa. It gives a very interesting history of the house, but does not mention that it is supposedly haunted.

Sighting at Rotherwood Mansion

Reader Ken e-mails concering Rotherwood Mansion in Kingsport:

Around 1995 while fishing along the bank of Rotherwood Mansion. Me and my family were enjoying the warm, sunny day. There were 4 of us on the bank next to the bridge. Laughter caught my attention so I looked up and there was a female and a male dressed in wedding clothing coming down the outside steps of Rotherwood mansion toward the river were we were fishing on the other side. This to anyone would look to be normal, but I'm not finished with the story. The couple had on old timey clothing the male was wearing a hat that people would call a top hat these days, the laughter seemed they were very much happy and in love. I turned to my brother and said look, turned and pointed at the direction of the laughter, they were gone, and my brother looked at me like I was crazy nothing was there, they vanished. For weeks I just talked about what happened and it stayed on my mind, until I went to the library and dug up some info on Rotherwood mansion. I'm not saying this was the lady in white but what I saw was definitely not my imagination you read the story of lady in white at Rotherwood mansion and you be the judge.... I say it was ghosts!!

South Tunnel Train Tracks

Near Portland in Sumner County is the small community of South Tunnel, that is said to be home to some spooks.

JB writes:

I used to live in Tennessee before I joined the military. I had a ghostly experience in a remote cow pasture that was beside part of the South Tunnel train tracks between Portland and Gallatin. Being from Tennessee, you're probably somewhat familiar with South Tunnel's role in the Civil War and the legend of the Lady in White. I didn't see her, but I did have an unexplainable experience. It was 4 July 2003. I was camping and shooting fire works in a cow pasture with some friends. When we ran out of fireworks we sat around the camp fire making small talk. At approximately 3:00 a.m. we all heard the sound of a train coming down the South Tunnel track. It wasn't the rumble of a present day train, but rather the 'chugga' sound you might hear from an old coal burning train. Something like the trains you would see in old westerns. For a minute or two the sound got louder but we didn't see any signs of a train coming from either direction. After about 5 minutes the sound stopped abruptly and wasn't heard again for the rest of the night. I learned just today that during the Civil War the Confederate Army collapsed the old South Tunnel by running a train into a log barricade. This doesn't seem like just coincidence to me. What do you think?

I don't know, JB, but it sounds pretty creepy. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? (Comment away or e-mail me.)

The Bell Witch

Widely considered America's greatest ghost story, the Bell Witch supposedly terrorized a family in rural Adams, TN in the early 1800s. You can read the story here.

Around midnight on May 11, myself, Todd, Stefanie, and Jason made a stop in Adams on our way back from Chicago. We stopped at the historical marker on Highway 41, and snapped some photos of the field where lights can allegedly sometimes be seen. We also took some photos from the bridge over the Red River. Nothing exceptional happened, but we did get a few orbs.

Contributers Still Wanted!

If you are interested in being a regular contributer to this blog, the please e-mail me at johnnyb325@aol.com. Basically, I would just like to have some additional contributers who visit alleged haunted sites and post their photos and experiences here. I would love to get some people from West Tennessee (a part of the state I don't get to visit very often), but anywhere is good. You can post as often or as little as you want.

I hope to hear from you soon!
