Tragedy in Virginia

April 16th, 2007 at 14:08

You’ve probably heard about the tragic shooting on the campus of Virginia Tech. Fox News reports that at least 32 are dead. We should all keep the victims and their families in our thoughts and prayers.

As a side note, I hate to bring this up at such a bad time, but Fox News also has a photo essay on the scene. I have no problem with images; certainly, a cable network must have them. But I think some of them, particularly the ones of victims being carried by rescuers, are in very bad taste. I’m sure that right now, many families are not sure about their kids, and I can’t imagine how horrible it would be to recognize them in one of these photos. All news outlets should at least hold off on publishing such photos.
